We took a couple of short trips this month, one to Glenwood Springs, and another to Westcliffe, CO. Two trips in as many weeks is a little much for our family unit, but we managed to have a good time anyway.

Here Spencer shows off his prize bubble gum, which he recovered from the street as passing paraders tossed candy to the masses. Well, maybe not masses (in Westcliff), but to we tens of folk on Main Street. We spoke seriously, and for the maybe 15th time, of buying property thereabouts.

Color me excited! Dan Simmons , my all time favorite science fiction author (Hyperion, Phases of Gravity, Worlds Enough and Time, Illum) and a darn good horror writer (actually, he's just a great writer, period), saw fit last week to post an illustration of mine to his online fan-art gallery. Page one, no less.
